Problem
Citibank's internal platform that visualizes regulatory risk and compliance data. The Risk & Controls Platform synthesizes data sources, provides analysis, and fosters collaboration though tooling. The platform facilitates real-time understanding and management of regulatory business.
User Personas
- Manages risk and control teams
- Reports to C Suite on performance of controls and monitors
- Based on performance, sets strategy to improve business processes around risk
- Supports risk teams through analysis of monitor and control data
- Identifies issues withing monitor process
- Works closely with business teams to identify ways to strengthen controls and monitors
- Oversees 3-7 monitors of control environment
- Identifies potential issues around controls at the lowest level of the Risk stack
- Takes actions to correct controls and monitors that are out of compliance
Identified pain points
understanding
In order to understand the data, we started with diagramming relationships with the help of our risk business contacts. We quickly learned that there is a very clear taxonomy that allowed multiple personas to utilize the same information from their business's priorities and point of view.
ideation
In ideation we utilized wireframing, sketching, and prototypes to understand varying user perspectives of the Risk environment. Here we began to understand differing needs amongst users. We then began to brainstorm ways to implement a platform that provided high level alerts and awareness, documentation of actions being taken, and an in platform collaboration tool to eliminate data discrepancies.
